Sixty Years of Remarkable Achievements and Daunting ChallengesWenyan Yang, Division for the Advancement of Women and Division of Economic and Social Affairs, United NationsWenyan Yang, Acting Chief of the COU (Coordination and Outreach Unit), is responsible for overall outreach and communications activity in the UN Division for the Advancement of Women and for facilitation of the Non-Governmental Organization participation in the UN intergovernmental processes. She started her UN career as an economic affairs officer in the Macroeconomic and Development Policy Analysis Division, contributing to the major departmental publication World Economic and Social Survey. Ms Yang holds an MA in Economics from New York University and a BA in political economy from Peking University, the Peoples Republic of China. She is among the first group of post-cultural revolution university graduates. She holds a Fulbright scholarship to study in the U.S..
